The RHRA is seeking qualified individuals for the role of Compliance Monitor and Support Specialist. This role engages with licensees to support a continuum of regulatory activities, including monitoring compliance with Registrar orders and license conditions and providing guidance and support through our Compliance Support Program. Reporting jointly to the Manager, Legal and Manager, Licensee Engagement and Support, this position plays a key role in supporting RHRA’s right-touch regulation approach with the objective of helping licensees operate in compliance with the Retirement Homes Act, 2010 and its Regulation.
Success in this role will be achieved through excellent client service delivery, licensee compliance through education, timely monitoring and reporting on licensee compliance with orders and conditions, communication, and ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships. The incumbent must be able to interpret and apply legislation, and to explain complex information related to legislation in a manner that is practical to implement for licensees of all experience levels. This position works in collaboration with Inspections and Legal staff and other functions to provide accurate and up-to-date information to assist in regulatory decision making.

-Establishing and maintaining a current roster of potential RH managers/management companies/consultants
-Coordinating and liaising with, and reviewing and assessing reports from, managers/consultants

Satisfactory Professional and Criminal Reference Checks. RHRA currently operates in a hybrid work environment with the expectation of a minimum of being on site at the RHRA’s Toronto Office on Wednesday of each week. Required office equipment (laptop, headset, soft phone) will be provided. Please note that applicants who receive any conditional offer of employment from RHRA may be required to provide proof that they are double vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada as a condition of employment and to maintain their status as fully vaccinated as a condition of continued employment.
