Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide compassionate care to residents according to their care plans and assist in identifying resident needs. The role supports safety, dignity, and comfort within AgeCare communities.

You will monitor care, document information, participate in training, and assist in onboarding new staff, while following IPAC policies and procedures to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meet the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents.
• Understand basics of sanitation and care for geriatric residents.

Responsibilities

• Assists in monitoring care to ensure it aligns with the care plan by observing residents and reporting findings.
• Assists in documenting information pertaining to resident care as directed.
• Attends in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
• Assists in onboarding of new staff as directed.
• Must follow IPAC policies and procedures.
