Job summary

Covenant Health in Edmonton is inviting applications for a Licensed Practical Nurse on the 5 East Surgical Care Unit at Misericordia Community Hospital. This Regular Part Time role (FTE 0.52) supports surgical patients and offers opportunities to develop assessment and coordination skills within a collaborative team.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, uphold professional standards, and contribute to patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).
• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
• At least one year of recent acute, inpatient surgery or orthopedic surgery experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong teamwork.
• Excellent assessment and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic care as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborate in delivery of holistic care to patients/residents and families.
• Coordinate care activities and support patient safety initiatives.
• Support learning and mentorship of staff, students, and learners.
