Job summary

The Health Care Aide role on the 5 East Surgical Care Unit at Misericordia Community Hosp in Edmonton supports patients after surgery across gynecological, plastics, general, urology and orthopedics. You will work with the nursing team on a 0.76 FTE schedule to provide direct personal care and monitor health status.

Applicants must be CLHA-registered with current BLS, and able to assist with mobility and lifting. Shifts include days, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with CLHA and hold a valid practice permit prior to starting.
• At least one year of related General or Orthopedic Surgery experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care and health support on a busy post-operative unit.
• Monitor changes in health status and report to nursing staff promptly.
• Support activities of daily living and ensure patient comfort, safety and dignity.
