AgeCare Shawnee in Calgary is seeking a Health Care Aide to join our care team. You will work under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver safe, thorough basic care and services to residents.

Responsibilities include helping residents bathe, transfer, feed, and follow care plans; providing routine treatments and assisting with mobility and activities. We value dignity, respect, and compassionate support for our residents.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).

Responsabilités

• Bath, shower, and wash residents following care plans and safety procedures.
• Assist with transfers using ceiling/mechanical lifts and transfer belts.
• Feed and assist residents during meals; refer to care plans for diet.
• Provide routine treatments and care under supervision of a staff nurse.
• Help residents travel around the facility and attend dining/activities.
• Support movements with or without mobility aids and assist with therapy visits.
