Job summary

AgeCare Mount Royal in Calgary is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our care team on a temporary, 0.8 FTE basis. Under a Staff Nurse's supervision, you will provide safe, compassionate basic resident care and support daily activities.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, transfers, meals, routine treatments, movement, and social activities. Requirements: English fluency, PCA/HCA certificate, CLHA registration, and at least one year in continuing care.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate course.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).
• Post-secondary education an asset.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the care plan.
• Assist with transfers using lifts and assistive devices.
• Feed or assist with meals and snacks according to diet plans.
• Provide routine treatments and care under supervision of a Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents with mobility and activities in the facility.
• Support residents to and from dining room and activities.
• Accompany residents to social and therapy activities inside the facility.
