Job summary

AgeCare Mount Royal in Calgary, AB is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) for a temporary, 0.43 FTE role. Under a Staff Nurse, you will support resident care through bathing, transfers, feeding, and routine treatments, following care plans and safety procedures.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of continuing care experience, a PCA/HCA certificate, English fluency, and active CLHA registration. Join a compassionate team dedicated to residents' quality of life.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment is preferred.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA/HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate Course or Equivalent Education Certificate.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP and water temperature controls.
• Transfer/assist with resident transfers using ceiling/mechanical lifts and transfer belts.
• Feed or assist with feeding and refer to care plans for diet.
• Provide routine treatments and care procedures under supervision of a Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents with mobility and movement using aids like walkers or wheelchairs.
• Support residents to and from dining areas, beauty parlor, therapy, and recreation activities.
