Job summary

Carewest in Calgary is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our complex continuing care team. Reporting directly to the Director of Care, you will provide ongoing client care, observe status, and escalate changes to the RN or LPN as needed.

This role includes delivering prescribed medications per policy, upholding professional standards, and performing related duties. Requires a high school diploma, Alberta HCA program, and CLHA registration.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required, plus completion of Alberta Health Care Aide program.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Must be physically capable of lifting, transferring and repositioning clients.
• CLHA registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Observe, monitor and report on client status/condition, including changes in physical and emotional status.
• Report changes to the RN and/or LPN for appropriate action.
• Deliver prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards and perform related duties as required.
