Job summary

Carewest in Calgary is hiring a Health Care Aide (HCA) for a casual, on‑site role in Complex Continuing Care. You will deliver prescribed care, monitor client status, and report changes to the nursing team, while upholding professional standards and policies.

Ideal candidates hold an Alberta Health Care Aide certificate, English communication skills, and the physical ability to assist with lifting and transfers. Prior health-care experience is an asset and immunization records may be requested.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus Alberta Health Care Aide program.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required.
• Must be physically capable of lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients.
• Active and current registration with CLHA required.
• Related experience in a health care facility is an asset.
• Program-specific training/experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provides ongoing client care as part of the interprofessional health care team.
• Observes, monitors and reports on client status to RN/LPN and acts per policy.
