Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in Toronto is hiring a Personal Support Worker for permanent day shifts. You will provide personal care aligned with resident-centered care principles, supporting daily living activities with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities include observation, care plan input, and collaboration with the care team. CPR certification and Ontario PSW training are required; Chinese language skills are an asset.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent.
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Experience in long term care setting an asset.
• Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset.
• Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office).
• Basic knowledge of Workday an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the nursing process by observing and reporting changes in residents' condition.
• Provides input into the care plan and implements the guidelines.
• Delivers personal care to promote comfort and safety for residents.
• Maintains effective communication with residents, families and staff.
• Participates as a team member with other departments to ensure quality care.
• Documents accurately on flow sheets and daily records reflecting each resident's condition.
