Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care, Toronto, is seeking a Personal Support Worker (Day Shift) for a temporary 3-month assignment with a possible extension. You will provide personal care to assist residents with daily activities in a resident-centred, respectful manner.

The role requires CPR certification and Ontario PSW training; registration with HSCPOA is preferred. Strong communication, teamwork with the care team, and adherence to safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario.
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority preferred.
• Experience in long term care is an asset.
• Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to speak Chinese is an asset.
• Computer literacy with Point Click Care and MS Office.
• Basic knowledge of Workday is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a positive team.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports changes in residents’ physical and emotional condition.
• Assists in the nursing process and updates care plans.
• Delivers personal care to promote comfort and safety during daily living activities.
• Maintains effective communication with residents, families and staff.
• Participates as a team member with other departments to ensure quality care.
• Documents accurately on flow sheets and daily records.
