Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Server to join the bright dining room of our retirement residence. You will serve meals to residents and guests, set and clear tables, and assist with dishware cleaning and tray service while upholding cleanliness in the dining area.

Preference is given to those with food service experience and a passion for serving seniors. A second language is a plus, and VPS screening is required or available on hire.

Qualifications

Preference for experience in food service and working with seniors.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift.
Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
Current VPS (Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening) within 6 months or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
To assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery after each dining service.
To maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.
To assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events.
To assist in orientation and training of new culinary employees.
To follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
To comply with provincial regulations and department policies.
To respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities.
