Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Oakville is hiring a Server to join our dining room team. You will support the set-up, serve residents and guests, and help with clean-up during dining services at our retirement residence.

This role emphasizes friendly service, teamwork, and adherence to health and safety policies. Prior food service experience and comfort working with seniors are preferred; VPS screening may be required.

Qualifications

• Preference given to candidates with food service experience in senior living.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and stand for long periods.
• Bilingual abilities are an asset.
• Current VPS or willingness to obtain one upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional manner.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and kitchen/dining areas.
• Assist with catering and participate in events and theme meals.
• Assist in orientation and training of new culinary staff.
• Follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
• Comply with residents' rights and responsibilities and promote them.
