Job summary

Optima Living is seeking a Server to provide courteous meal service to residents and guests, set up and maintain dining areas, and ensure cleanliness before, during, and after meals.

Reporting to the Food Services, Support Services or Hospitality Manager, you will interact with residents to take orders, accommodate dietary restrictions, and help with special events while adhering to safety and infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food services role is an asset.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices is required.
• Strong personal hygiene practices are required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and beverages to residents according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Sets up, cleans and sanitizes the dining room and servery before and after meals.
• Interacts with residents to take meal orders and answer menu questions.
• Provides tray services according to care or service plan.
• Prepares and serves a variety of beverages, including coffee and tea.
• Stores food in designated areas following food safety procedures.
• Assists with receiving food and supplies and stores them properly.
