Job summary

Berkshire Care Centre in Windsor, Ontario is seeking a Dietary Aide to support our Food Services team. You will assist the cook, serve meals and ensure residents receive properly prepared, attractively plated food in line with diet plans.

The role emphasizes safety, hygiene, and collaboration with other departments. Relevant training or an apprenticeship in Cook trades is valued, with opportunities for growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed or enrolled in a Food Service Work program at a College or private college.
• Or completed an apprenticeship in Cook, Institutional Cook, or Assistant Cook under applicable acts.
• Or entered a registered training agreement for Cook trades with relevant authorities.
• Or in the Home's reasonable opinion, possess appropriate skills and experience in institutional/health care food service.

Responsibilities

• Delivers meals in a pleasant, courteous manner.
• Assists the cook in meal preparation and plating as requested.
• Respects residents' likes, dislikes and dietary requirements.
• Follows diets/textures as prescribed by RD/MD.
• Ensures meals are an experience, not a task.
• Maintains serveries, tables, storage areas and fridges/freezers.
• Cleans and resets tables; removes dirty dishware.
• Loads, operates and empties the dishwasher.
• Collaborates with all Food Services staff and other departments.
• Supports FIFO processes.
• Follows cleaning procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
• Participates in required education.
