Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA in Ottawa is seeking a Dietary Aide to prepare and serve meals in an assisted living or medical facility. You will follow therapeutic diets and portion standards while supporting daily dining operations.

You will maintain dining spaces, sanitize areas, observe HACCP and WHMIS guidelines, and assist with catering as needed. Candidates should have a valid Food Handler Certificate and prior experience in hospitality or customer service.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent.
• Experience as a dietary aide or in hospitality/customer service.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Able to prepare meals according to instructions and portion standards.
• Strong time-management, multitasking, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals to residents or patients according to therapeutic diets.
• Set up, clear, clean and sanitize dining spaces.
• Maintain and follow cleaning schedules and restock service areas.
• Observe HACCP guidelines for safe food handling.
• Follow WHMIS guidelines when using cleaning chemicals.
• Assist with special function catering as delegated.
