Job summary

Responsive Group Inc. is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with meal preparation and resident care in an Ontario long-term care setting. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality care, following dietary plans, and maintaining a positive dining experience for residents.

The position offers casual shifts with a starting wage of CAD 21.33 per hour. Flexibility in hours and commitment to safety are essential, with opportunities for growth and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Prefer candidates who have completed or are enrolled in a Food Service Worker program or an apprenticeship in Cook/Institutional Cook.
• Must have Food Handler Certification.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders and work assignments.
• Provide evidence of two supervisory references.
• Vaccination proof is strongly recommended and subject to change by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Participate in departmental and town hall meetings to ensure effective communication.
• Record observations relating to resident care and dietary preferences.
• Mentor new staff and students.
• Support a team approach and maintain high-quality resident care.
• Ensure accurate documentation of each shift (temperature checks, equipment audits, etc.).
• Follow Infection Prevention and Control and Safe Food Handling procedures.
