Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in preparing and serving meals for residents or patients in an assisted living or medical facility in Edmonton.

You will follow therapeutic diets, maintain dining spaces, observe HACCP guidelines, and work with a team to support special catering as needed. Strong communication and time-management are important.

A valid Food Handler Certificate is required, and prior experience in hospitality or food service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent.
• Previous experience in dietary aide, hospitality or customer service is preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines is required.
• Ability to prepare meals according to instructions and portion standards.
• Good time-management skills and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Must have the physical ability to perform duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals to residents or patients in an assisted living or medical facility.
• Assist in basic food preparation and serving according to therapeutic diets and portion standards.
• Set, clear, clean, and sanitize dining spaces.
• Maintain and follow the cleaning schedule for the day.
• Monitor and restock service areas as needed.
• Observe HACCP guidelines to ensure safe food handling/preparation.
• Follow WHMIS and MSDS guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing agents.
• Support with special function catering as delegated.
