Job summary

GEM Health Care - Melville Gardens in Halifax, NS, is seeking a Continuing Care Assistant/Personal Support Worker for part-time, in-person work. Be part of a team delivering compassionate resident care in a long-term care setting, with opportunities to support daily living activities and quality of life.

Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, mobility, feeding, and monitoring residents, while maintaining confidentiality and following infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Current Standard First-Aid and CPR certification.
• Successful completion or enrollment in a CCA/PSW program.
• Registered with the CCA Registry.
• Current GPA training (GPA) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene, oral care, skin care, toileting, bathing, feeding, dressing and grooming.
• Maintain confidentiality concerning residents, staff and organizational information.
• Work within the NSAHO Scope of Practice.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to facility infection control policies.
