Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a dedicated Personal Caregiver to join our team serving clients in Nova Scotia. You will deliver compassionate home care, assist with daily living activities, and support clients to remain in their own homes with dignity and safety.

Responsibilities include homemaking, companionship, personal care per plan, observing client conditions, and maintaining infection control. French is a plus; a valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal, accredited caregiver training program and/or equivalent education/experience.
• Strong knowledge of caregiving principles and customer service.
• Able to communicate effectively in English; French proficiency is an asset.
• Provide high-quality care with current knowledge of community care practices.
• Physically able to assist movement and lift up to 23 kg.
• Reliable transportation; driver’s license an asset.
• Able to obtain a clear Criminal background check with Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide homemaking services (cleaning, cooking, laundry, general household management).
• Offer companionship and accompany clients to activities and events.
• Administer personal care per the care plan directives.
• Ensure client comfort, safety and overall well-being.
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
• Observe and document client conditions; report changes to Supervisor.
