Job summary

Extendicare in Halton Hills is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) on a casual/part-time basis to provide compassionate, direct care to residents in a long-term care setting. The role focuses on assisting with daily living activities and supporting residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Qualified candidates have completed a PSW program or HCA/CCA certification and bring experience from long-term care or community home care.

Qualifications

• Completed a PSW program or HCA/CCA certification that meets required standards.
• Experience in Long Term Care or community home care with dementia/palliative care preferred.
• Knowledge of care planning systems and documentation.
• Ability to communicate positively with staff, residents and families.
• Ability to follow legislation, routines, nursing care plans; read/write English.
• Experience working independently in community home care is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care such as ambulation, feeding, bathing and grooming.
• Assist residents in meeting physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs.
• Follow care plans and document care activities as required.
