Qualifications

Job Description:

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the expectation task list is to identify and clarify what management expects from the incumbent. The following expectations and tasks will be part of the annual performance appraisals; your merit increase will be based on the level of performance in each of these areas.

Expectations may change year to year, and both parties should use the annual performance appraisal to set realistic and equitable goals for the upcoming year.

EXPECTATIONS & TASK LIST

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to the Transitional Employment Program Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

Service
  • Provide individualized counselling to a caseload of 10-15 clients within the agency's rehabilitation model and policies
  • Establish and maintain professional counselling relationships
  • Assess client needs and develop goal-oriented rehabilitation plans
  • Provide crisis intervention, supportive counselling, and advocacy as needed
  • Offer on-site training, support, supervision, and quality control
  • Notify the supervisor of any issues or significant observations regarding clients
  • Manage casework based on client needs within a holistic support framework
  • Maintain client files meeting agency standards
  • Drive work vehicle responsibly, ensure maintenance, and report issues
  • Maintain program equipment and machinery
  • Assist with client intake and track client work hours
  • Coordinate with other professionals and make community referrals
  • Participate in workplace safety initiatives and safety committee
  • Stay physically and mentally fit to perform duties
  • Exhibit professional behavior per agency policies and social work ethics
  • May require driving own vehicle to various sites
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Contribute as a responsible team member and maintain positive relations
  • Engage in professional development and growth
  • Uphold agency philosophy, policies, and procedures, providing input as needed
  • Participate in supervision and relevant meetings
  • Maintain records, reports, and statistics, including OCANs
  • Model effective work behavior for clients
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Align customer relations and business ethics with agency standards
  • Demonstrate professional conduct

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent
  • Counselling experience in mental health, developmental challenges, or addictions
  • Strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Mechanical aptitude for safe operation of machinery related to client training
  • Computer literacy (word processing, inventory control)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

Hours of Work: 25 hours per week
Compensation: $23.28 per hour

Salary Range: $23.28 to $29.10, up to $34.92, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Placement within this range considers market conditions and candidate qualifications.
