Job summary

enCompass Community Safety Agency seeks a Release Support Worker to assist individuals transitioning from the Edmonton Remand Centre into the community, focusing on release planning, systems navigation, and connecting to supports for goal achievement.

The role emphasizes client-centered planning, collaboration with community resources, and addressing needs in education, employment, housing, and services. Flexible hours, 37.5-hour workweek, term through May 24, 2027.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Human Services or related field; professional standing with relevant bodies.
• Minimum of 3 years experience with complex, high risk populations.
• Knowledge of community resources, trauma, homelessness, mental health and substance use.

Responsibilities

• Refer and assist participants with applications and referrals to services.
• Help with reintegration plans for participants returning to the community.
• Collaborate with professionals and agencies to ensure safety and support systems.
• Maintain data collection and program assessments as directed.
• Build relationships with probation officers, social workers and other staff.
• Communicate pertinent information to supervisor and colleagues.
• Comply with enCompass policies and procedures.
