Job summary

CBI Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist for East Kootenay (Golden, Invermere, Kimberley, Cranbrook, Fernie, Sparwood) on a part-time basis. The role offers flexible hours and requires travel to rural sites, with an hourly rate of $70.00–$75.00 CAD.

You will assess and treat a diverse client base, collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, and support clients to improve quality of life through home safety, driving assessments, ergonomic planning, and equipment recommendations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized School of Occupational Therapy.
• Registered with College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
• Passionate about the profession with commitment to ongoing development.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with willingness to travel to rural sites.

Responsibilities

• Work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent client outcomes.
• Provide assessment and treatment to a wide variety of clients with varying needs, including those with complex needs.
• Provide home safety/attendant care assessments, ergonomic assessments, driving assessments, adaptive equipment assessments, client education, and clinic-based assessment/treatment.
• Coordinate care with client, family, CBI Care Team, funder and involved health care providers.
• Develop new programs to meet identified client needs in collaboration with the team.
• Network with internal and external stakeholders to promote programs.
• Perform regular charting, reporting and communication.
• Record workload measurement data.
• Attend staff meetings and case conference meetings as required.
• Provide professional services to other CBI facilities or departments, as required.

Occupational Therapist - East Kootenay (Golden, Invermere, Kimberley, Cranbrook, Fernie, Sparwood)

This is a part time opportunity. Hourly Rate: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour.

This valued Occupational Therapist will have an opportunity to practice within a large scope through collaboration and teamwork, responsible for evaluating and supporting the clients in a holistic manner to achieve optimal quality of life. Day to day activities vary from serving clients in the community, in clinic, networking and collaborating within the larger health care community and with the funder, completing reports, and solving problems/overcoming barriers to achieving the Care Goals.

We are seeking a self‑starter that is able and excited to work within urban and rural areas and has a proven ability to deliver excellence in outcomes and relationship building. This opportunity is well suited to candidates that can work independently at times, but also see the value in collaborating with many other professionals and teams to achieve the optimal outcome for the client.

• You are a graduate of a recognized School of Occupational Therapy
• You are a registered member in good standing with College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
• You are passionate about your profession and committed to ongoing professional development
• Hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with a willingness to travel to rural site
