Job summary

CBI Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a part-time opportunity in the Kamloops region. You will join a multidisciplinary team to support clients returning to work and improving quality of life.

The role emphasizes community-based practice, comprehensive assessments, and collaboration with stakeholders. Applicants must be a graduate of an OT program, registered with the BC College of Occupational Therapists, and have a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Must be a registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists in BC.
  • Experience in the private sector and community-based settings.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver client outcomes within the community.
  • Coordinate the return-to-work process with stakeholders for smooth workplace transition.
  • Provide home, job, safety/attendant care assessments and ergonomic assessments as required.
  • Conduct functional ability evaluations and insurer examinations.
  • Deliver client education and job coaching as needed.
  • Record workload data and maintain timely charting and reporting.

This is a part time opportunity offering up to 20 hours per week servicing our Kamloops region

Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent client outcomes within the community
  • Work with clients with Mental Health diagnoses, brain and spinal cord injury
  • Provide impartial home, job, and safety/attendant care assessments, functional ability evaluations, insurer examinations, ergonomic assessments, client education, and job coaching, as required
  • Coordinate the return to work process with all stakeholders in a timely way, ensuring a smooth transition into the workplace
  • Work closely with the team and other resources to develop new programs to meet identified client needs
  • Network with internal and external stakeholders to promote new and existing programs
  • Perform regular, timely charting, reporting and communication
  • Record workload measurement data
  • Attend staff meetings and case conference meetings, as required
  • Provide professional services to other CBI facilities or departments, as required
Here’s What You’ll Need To Be Successful
  • You are a graduate of a recognized School of Occupational Therapy
  • You are a registered member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in BC
  • Have experience in the private sector and working within the community
  • Experience with Mental Health diagnoses, brain and spinal cord injuries
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle
  • You are passionate about your profession and committed to ongoing professional development
