Job summary

CBI Health Group in Kamloops is seeking a part-time Community Occupational Therapist to support up to 20 hours per week in the Kamloops region. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to aid clients’ return to work and improve quality of life, while delivering home and ergonomic assessments and job coaching when needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized School of Occupational Therapy.
• Registered member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in BC.
• Experience in private sector and community settings.
• Experience with Mental Health diagnoses and brain/spinal cord injuries.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver client outcomes in the community.
• Provide impartial home, job, and safety/attendant care assessments and functional evaluations.
• Coordinate return-to-work processes with stakeholders for a smooth transition.
• Develop programs to meet identified client needs and network with stakeholders.

Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent client outcomes within the community
• Work with clients with Mental Health diagnoses, brain and spinal cord injury
• Provide impartial home, job, and safety/attendant care assessments, functional ability evaluations, insurer examinations, ergonomic assessments, client education, and job coaching, as required
• Coordinate the return to work process with all stakeholders in a timely way, ensuring a smooth transition into the workplace
• Work closely with the team and other resources to develop new programs to meet identified client needs
• Network with internal and external stakeholders to promote new and existing programs
• Perform regular, timely charting, reporting and communication
• Record workload measurement data
• Attend staff meetings and case conference meetings, as required
• Provide professional services to other CBI facilities or departments, as required

Here’s what you’ll need to be successful

• You are a graduate of a recognized School of Occupational Therapy
• You are a registered member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in BC
• Have experience in the private sector and working within the community
• Experience withMental Health diagnoses, brain and spinal cord injuries
• Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle
• You are passionate about your profession and committed to ongoing professional development
