Job summary

The Salvation Army London Centre of Hope in London, ON is hiring a full-time janitor to maintain cleanliness and safety across our facilities, including 281 Wellington Street and outreach sites.

We require a minimum of two years' experience in janitorial and maintenance work, knowledge of cleaning methods, and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Applicants must pass a Criminal Background Check and TB screening and follow OH&S policies and our mission and values.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years experience in janitorial, housekeeping and maintenance fields.
• Demonstrate janitorial, housekeeping and maintenance skills at a professional level.
• Capable of operating mechanized cleaning and maintenance equipment (e.g., floor cleaner).
• An original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening is required.

Responsibilities

• Store, retrieve, and catalogue client belongings per procedures.
• Ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained regularly.
• Complete bed bug checks with the Housekeeper Lead and manage bagging/tagging when required.
• Report any damage to property or equipment promptly to the Environmental Services Manager.
• Assist in wellness checks as time permits.
• Suggest improvements to efficiency, working conditions or procedures to the Environmental Services Manager.
