Job summary

The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory is hiring a housekeeping role to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming facility for residents and staff. You will sanitize, restock supplies and prepare rooms for new residents, while upholding health and safety standards and serving as a positive role model.

This position requires Grade 12, First Aid/CRP certification, and prior housekeeping experience. You will work with a team to support residents, adhere to anti-racism and equity commitments,

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent experience.
• First Aid/CRP Certification required.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Experience with populations served by Salvation Army is a plus.
• Commitment to anti-racism, equity and anti-oppression.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain facility including floors, walls, windows, appliances, fixtures, washrooms, kitchen and dining areas, lounges and offices.
• Manage environmental supplies, restocking cleaning supplies, linens and towels.
• Sanitize facility per outbreak policies and public health requirements.
• Prepare rooms for new residents and assist with setup and breakdown for events.
• Ensure waste removal and recycling in common areas and client rooms.
• Identify and report repairs or maintenance needs.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and maintain SDS accessibility.
• Respond to inquiries from guests or staff; assist training of new housekeeping staff.
• Perform seasonal duties such as snow shoveling, salting or sanding.
• Maintain professional conduct and represent Salvation Army values.
