Job summary

Franklin-Gardens-Residence in Leamington, Canada is seeking a Community Connections Manager to be the welcoming heart of the Home. You will connect with residents, families, visitors and staff through warmth, empathy and meaningful conversations.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will blend storytelling and culture-building with administrative duties to support resident satisfaction and community engagement in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Social Services, Community Development, Communications, or Gerontology.
• Experience in long-term care, senior living, community support, or social services.
• Compassionate, approachable, and emotionally intelligent communicator.
• Strong interpersonal and storytelling abilities; comfortable engaging with diverse individuals and families.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft/Google suites; basic digital photography or media tools.
• Vulnerable Sector Check and TB testing or chest X-ray as required.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for residents, families, visitors and team members.
• Support residents and families with information, guidance and connection.
• Know each resident and weave connections between residents and team members through daily conversations.
• Maintain the front welcome hub and lounge; keep space inviting and organized.
• Collaborate on a calendar of social events for the main entrance area.
• Share stories through internal/external channels and celebrate moments.
• Welcoming new team members and facilitating residents moving in.
• Respond to inquiries by phone or in person with professionalism and discretion.
• Maintain visitor logs, deliveries, and confidential correspondence.
• Provide admin support, care conference booking, transportation, billing, liaising with partners.
• Support resident move-in and navigation of the Home’s services.
• Monitor entrance and surveillance; conduct monthly audits; participate in huddles.
• Contribute content for website/social media; manage Optisign content.
• Assist in production/distribution of Home communiqués; support surveys and QA activities.
