Job summary

Franklin Gardens Residence in Leamington, Ontario, is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator (RN/RPN) to lead the home’s education and competency program. The role owns orientation, mandatory training, and evidence-based learning across all shifts, reporting to the Director of Care.

The ideal candidate has LTC experience, a health/science degree, and strong adult-education skills, with a commitment to person-centred care and compliance readiness.

Qualifications

  • RN/RPN in good standing (Ontario) preferred.
  • Experience in Long-Term Care with interdisciplinary practice.
  • Coursework in adult education and staff development.
  • Ability to assess learning needs and develop education plans.
  • Proven ability to manage education compliance and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and administer the Home's Staff Development Program, including annual education plan and calendar.
  • Coordinate orientation and mandatory education for staff, volunteers, and students.
  • Conduct annual education needs assessment and program evaluation.
  • Schedule and deliver general orientation and onboarding for new team members.
  • Guide registered staff through clinical orientation and practice readiness.
  • Develop and deliver mandatory in-services and refreshers using adult-learning principles.
  • Ensure education aligns with CNO standards and current best practices.
  • Coordinate education on emergency response, IPAC, and safety training.
  • Maintain LMS records and generate compliance reports for leaders.
  • Build external partnerships to enhance education quality.
