Job summary

HUB International is seeking an Account Assistant to support the account management workflow in a collaborative brokerage environment. You’ll process certificates, endorsements, and client documents in a timely manner within service standards, and help maintain Epic records and rate histories.

The role emphasizes strong administrative skills, teamwork, and proactive client service. RIBO is an asset; 1–2 years of insurance experience preferred; Ontario location with standard benefits included.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education or commensurate work experience.
• RIBO Licensed is an asset.
• 1-2 years of insurance account experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience on Epic broker management system desired.
• Strong organizational, time and client management skills.
• Effective communication skills: verbal and written.
• Strong team player with proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Executing insurance certificates, auto liability slips, binders, statements of values, proposals, and processing of client documents within timelines.
• Maintaining an effective abeyance system aligned with service standards.
• Setting up clients and prospects into Epic and Certificate Exchange.
• Loading Policy and Underwriting Information into Epic.
• Updating rate/premium histories and premium comparisons; invoicing and collection tasks as required.
• Maintaining and updating the Summary of Insurance and responding to client queries.
• Assisting with Certificate Exchange and claims reporting.
• Providing backup reception coverage and other duties as assigned.

About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Account Assistant to support the account management workflow. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong administrative support experience and proficiency in EPIC broker management system. This position includes working on a book of business in a supportive team and management environment in which knowledge is shared and development encouraged!

What You’ll Do

Executing insurance certificates, auto liability slips, binders, statements of values, proposals, and processing of client documents (endorsements and policies) within timelines aligned with established service standards Maintaining an effective abeyance system aligned with established service standards Setting up clients and prospects into brokerage management system Epic and Certificate Exchange Loading Policy and Underwriting Information into Epic Updating rate/premium histories and premium comparisons; Invoicing, execution of premium finance forms, collection of aged receivables, as required, and correction of commission differences Maintaining and updating the Summary of Insurance (update as policy changes occur and at renewal) Answering client queries, communicating with insurance companies Assisting clients with Certificate Exchange Claims reporting and follow ups. Updating claims history on summaries Providing support where required and performing all other duties as assigned Acting as backup reception coverage where required.

Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $43,000-$50,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
