Job summary

HUB International is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Associate to support our SME Practice in Canada. The role focuses on retaining and growing SME portfolio accounts, with strong emphasis on administrative support and customer service.

You will work with a team of HUB professionals and have exposure to commercial lines work while pursuing insurance coursework. The position includes opportunities for professional development, licensing assistance, and a comprehensive total compensation

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of administrative support experience.
• RIBO license required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with Epic or similar insurance brokerage management system is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous service to internal and external clients; handle coverage inquiries and client requests.
• Prepare documents: letters, certificates, confirmations of insurance, renewal packages, policies, submissions, binders and summaries.
• Process endorsements, invoicing, and generate reports in program systems.
• Calculate adjustments and premiums on policies and related documents.
• Assist in collecting Accounts Receivable per file-management standards.
• Participate in training and professional development.

What You’ll Do

• Provide our internal and external clients with prompt, courteous and professional service including handling coverage inquiries and processing client requests.
• Timely preparation of documents such as letters, certificates, confirmation of insurance, client renewal packages, policies, submissions, binders and summaries.
• Accurately process endorsements, invoicing of transactions and generating reports using various program systems.
• Calculate adjustments and premiums on policies and other insurance documents;
• Assist in collection of Accounts Receivables while adhering to HUB International’s file management standards
• Participate in training and professional development courses to enhance skills and industry knowledge
• Take a proactive approach to working directly with our clients & carrier partners on renewals and endorsement.
• Provide additional support to the SME Account Managers, SME Account Assistants and SME Leadership as required

What You’ll Need For Success

• Minimum 1 to 2 years of administrative support experience
• RIBO (Registered Insurance Broker of Ontario) license Required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire
• Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience in Epic or similar insurance brokerage management system an asset
• Strong customer service skills with professionals
• Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision
• Strong attention to detail, time management and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
