Job summary

HUB International in Markham, Ontario is seeking an experienced Account Assistant to support the commercial practice across manufacturing, wholesale, retail, realty, and more. You will handle certificates, client documents, data entry in EPIC and Policy Works, and respond to client inquiries.

Ideal candidates have post-secondary education or equivalent, 1-2 years of commercial insurance experience, and a RIBO license (or in progress).

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education or commensurate work experience.
• RIBO Licensed or in progress; 1-2 years of commercial insurance account experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Experience on EPIC or similar broker management systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute certificates, confirmations, slips, binders, and client documents within service standards.
• Maintain abeyance system aligned with service standards.
• Set up clients and prospects into EPIC and Policy Works.
• Load policy and underwriting info into EPIC, Policy Works and Aviva RTM.
• Update rate/premium histories, invoicing, and journal entries; manage receivables and commissions.
• Update summaries with policy changes and renewals; assist with certificates and client queries.
• Input claims in the broker system and update claims history.

HUB International in Markham, Ontario is currently looking for an experienced Account Assistant with the ability to support the account workflow for our Commercial Practice which focuses on wide variety of industry verticals including but not limited to Manufacturing, Wholesale, Retail, Realty, Professional Services, Trucking, and Construction. This is an ideal role for an Insurance Broker with strong administrative support experience. Primary Responsibilities

• Execution of insurance certificates, leasing confirmations, auto liability slips, binders, statement of values, proposals, and processing of client documents (endorsements and policies) within timelines aligned with established service standards
• Maintaining effective abeyance system aligned with established service standards
• Setting up clients and prospects into brokerage management system EPIC and Policy Works
• Loading Policy and Underwriting Information into EPIC, Policy Works and Aviva RTM
• Updating rate/premium histories and premium comparisons; calculation of PST, Invoicing, processing of journal entries, execution of premium finance forms, collection of aged receivables, as required, and correction of commission differences
• Maintain/Update Summary of Insurance (update as policy changes occur and at renewal)
• Answering client queries, communicating with insurance companies
• Assist clients with Certificate Exchange
• Input claims in broker management system
• Update claims history on summaries and/or Policy Works
• Provide assistance where required and perform all other duties as assigned by Account Manager and Account Associate

Qualifications and Experience

• Post-Secondary education or commensurate work experience; RIBO Licensed or in progress 1-2 years of commercial insurance account experience required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook; Experience on EPIC or similar insurance broker management systems.
• Strong organizational, time and client management skills
• Effective communication skills: verbal and written

The expected salary range for this position is $47,000-$57,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
