Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Kitchen Appliance Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and inspect commercial kitchen equipment across multiple campus facilities. You will ensure safety, compliance, and efficient operation of appliances and food service gear.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics of electrical/gas/refrigeration systems, part procurement, asset documentation in CMMS, and coordination with manufacturers. Evening work and on-call rotation are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience working on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and asset management systems.
• Strong environmental, health and safety mindset.
• Technical diploma or certification in appliance repair, refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, gas fitting, or a related trade preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment including coolers, ovens, warmers, deep fryers, mixers, blenders, steam ovens, warming plates, griddles, pizza ovens, dishwashers, coffee brewers, etc.
• Performs corrective maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoots performance issues and root causes.
• Diagnoses electrical, gas, refrigeration and control system issues.
• Creates detailed records of maintenance and repairs through a CMMS process.
• Update asset records.
• Co-ordinates with manufacturer contractors.
• Assists in replacement part procurement.
• Manages replacement part inventory.
• Escalates issues to the mechanical team lead.
• Provides basic function and cleaning training to user groups.
• Be a part of an on call rotation.
• Other duties as assigned.
