Job summary

Carleton University in Ottawa is seeking a Commercial Food Equipment Service Technician for a term full-time assignment. The incumbent will install, maintain and repair gas, steam and electrical cooking equipment across campus food service locations.

Requirements include a TSSA G II Gas Fitter license, several safety certifications, and five years of experience in commercial cooking equipment service. Proficiency with Windows applications is expected. Health and safety rules apply on campus.

Qualifications

• Gas fitter license and ability to troubleshoot gas safety controls.
• Commercial food service equipment knowledge is required.
• Factory training seminars and WHMIS safety training are expected.
• Five years of experience in installation, maintenance and repair of commercial cooking equipment (gas focus).
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Excel and Access databases.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair commercial cooking equipment (gas, steam, electrical).
• Perform gas safety procedures, venting and shut-down procedures for leaks.
• Maintain records and update inventory of parts and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and COI requirements.
• Support work orders, materials and billing with accurate timekeeping.
