Job summary

HUB International in Cranbrook/Castlegar is seeking a Commercial Insurance Associate to deliver outstanding client service on commercial accounts. You will support producers, process invoices, renewals, certificates of insurance and other documentation while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Candidates should hold a Level 2 Insurance License with 1 year of commercial insurance experience; industry designations are assets. The salary range is CAD 45,000 to 60,000 plus benefits and RRSP matching.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Insurance License required.
• 1 year commercial insurance experience preferred.
• 1 year general insurance industry exposure advantageous.
• Industry designations (CIP/CAIB/CRM) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist producer and marketer with servicing commercial accounts.
• Meet clients’ needs and process documentation (Certificates of Insurance, Renewals, Proposals, Endorsements).
• Review policy documents for accuracy before forwarding to clients.
• Handle renewal information and client inquiries; support invoicing and related coordination.

The Opportunity! As a Commercial Insurance Associate, you will apply your superior attention to detail and excellent client service skills while working closely with a team of Producers and Marketers on our Commercial accounts. You will help build long-term relationships with our clients with helping to answer client inquires and requests through policy and coverage insurers. We currently have openings available in both our Cranbrook and Castlegar branches.

A day in the life

• Assist producer and marketer with all aspects of servicing commercial accounts
• Meet existing clients’ needs and process documentation (Certificates of Insurance, Cover Notes, Renewals, Proposals, Endorsements, In-House Policies, Invoicing, Finance Contracts, Customer Correspondence)
• Review and ensure accuracy of policy documentation from insurers before forwarding to the client
• Contact clients for renewal information
• Take client calls and answer questions regarding coverages, accept and process online quotes
• Negotiate with insurers on coverage and price so as to best meet the needs of the client in conjunction with the producer
• Update client information as changes occur
• Answer account related questions/requests from clients, lawyers, and banks
• Provide policy and coverage information to clients upon request or inquiry
• Will be assigned some minimal, but regular duties to help support the floater position

What you will bring to our team

• Level 2 Insurance License
• 1 year of commercial insurance experience considered an asset
• 1 year of general insurance industry experience considered an asset
• Industry designation considered an asset (CIP, CAIB, CRM, or General Insurance and Risk Management Diploma, BCIT)
• Highly self-directed with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage your own workload
• Strong attention to detail, with accuracy in data entry and documentation
• Committed to following established processes, policy, and compliance requirements
• Collaborative approach and a genuine interest in contributing to a diverse team
• Strong customer service focus with the ability to deliver positive client experiences
• Clear and credible written and verbal communication across all levels of the organization
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, client focused environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Salary Expectations – The expected salary range for this position is $45,000 to $60,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
