Job summary

HUB International in Cranbrook and Castlegar, BC, is seeking a Commercial Insurance Associate to support producers and marketers on commercial accounts. You will handle certificates of insurance, renewals, endorsements, and client inquiries while maintaining accuracy and a high level of service.

Ideal candidates bring a Level 2 Insurance License, 1 year of commercial insurance experience, and applicable designations; you are detail-focused, well organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Level 2 Insurance License is required/preferred.
• 1 year of commercial insurance experience is an asset.
• Industry designation (CIP, CAIB, CRM) or related diploma is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist producers and marketers with servicing commercial accounts.
• Process Certificates of Insurance, Cover Notes, Renewals, Proposals, Endorsements and In-House Policies.
• Review policy documents for accuracy before sending to clients.
• Contact clients for renewal information and respond to policy inquiries.
• Negotiate with insurers on coverage and price to meet client needs.
• Update client information as changes occur and support the floater position.

The Opportunity! As a Commercial Insurance Associate, you will apply your superior attention to detail and excellent client service skills while working closely with a team of Producers and Marketers on our Commercial accounts. You will help build long-term relationships with our clients with helping to answer client inquires and requests through policy and coverage insurers. We currently have openings available in both our Cranbrook and Castlegar branches.

A day in the life

• Assist producer and marketer with all aspects of servicing commercial accounts
• Meet existing clients’ needs and process documentation (Certificates of Insurance, Cover Notes, Renewals, Proposals, Endorsements, In-House Policies, Invoicing, Finance Contracts, Customer Correspondence)
• Review and ensure accuracy of policy documentation from insurers before forwarding to the client
• Contact clients for renewal information
• Take client calls and answer questions regarding coverages, accept and process online quotes
• Negotiate with insurers on coverage and price so as to best meet the needs of the client in conjunction with the producer
• Update client information as changes occur
• Answer account related questions/requests from clients, lawyers, and banks
• Provide policy and coverage information to clients upon request or inquiry
• Will be assigned some minimal, but regular duties to help support the floater position

What you will bring to our team

• Level 2 Insurance License
• 1 year of commercial insurance experience considered an asset
• 1 year of general insurance industry experience considered an asset
• Industry designation considered an asset (CIP, CAIB, CRM, or General Insurance and Risk Management Diploma, BCIT)
• Highly self-directed with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage your own workload
• Strong attention to detail, with accuracy in data entry and documentation
• Committed to following established processes, policy, and compliance requirements
• Collaborative approach and a genuine interest in contributing to a diverse team
• Strong customer service focus with the ability to deliver positive client experiences
• Clear and credible written and verbal communication across all levels of the organization
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, client focused environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Salary Expectations – The expected salary range for this position is $45,000 to $60,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
