Summary

The Account Manager I is responsible for working with Advisors / Client Executives and Account Executives to service client accounts. The role involves supporting day-to-day account management for a specific set of clients, requiring extensive verbal, electronic, and written communication. This position provides an opportunity to learn to manage a book of business under the supervision of senior team members. The individual will develop relationships with clients and carrier contacts, working proactively to deliver services efficiently. This role is designed for learning and growth, with supervision from more experienced staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develop relationships; attend meetings and contribute as appropriate.
  2. Assist in preparing and sending requests for endorsements to insurance carriers, working with senior team members.
  3. Communicate changes in premium, collect endorsement down payments, and establish third-party financing if applicable.
  4. Participate in reviewing policies and carrier source documents for accuracy under supervision.
  5. Create and maintain client files according to office procedures, ensuring accurate policy records in the agency management system.
  6. Assist with billing questions from clients and insurance personnel, with support from the Accounting Department.

  • Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-confident in making sound independent decisions.
  • Ability to interact successfully with diverse individuals and work effectively both in teams and independently.
  • Handle situations professionally, calmly, and courteously.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and reconcile financial reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail, decision-making, and problem resolution skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and technology.
Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent) and BA/BS preferred.
  • Over 3 years of client service and/or industry experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registration
  • Appropriate licensing or the ability to obtain it if required.
