A health services provider is looking for a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. This part-time role at the Blairmore Health Care Center involves performing laboratory and X-ray procedures while working as part of an inter-professional team. The Crowsnest Pass laboratory is located within the Blairmore Health Care Center and serves the town of Blairmore as well as the surrounding towns of Bellevue, Coleman, Hillcrest and Frank which comprise the Crowsnest Pass. This busy location is staffed with a strong compliment of laboratory professionals. If you are a lover of the outdoors, this beautiful community has everything you could desire. Relocation assistance may be available with a Return of Service Agreement.
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter‑professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X‑ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.
Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Strong communication and multi-tasking skills are required.
Recent phlebotomy and rural experience are an asset.
