Job summary

Bird Construction is seeking a Student Project Coordinator for an 8-month co-op based in Victoria, BC. You will coordinate drawings, track trade quantities, participate in meetings, and support field coordination on an active building project.

You will develop scheduling, documentation, and on-site coordination skills while collaborating with a supervisory and technical mentor. Applicant must be enrolled in a relevant engineering/construction program and able to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Construction program.
• Must complete at least one more semester of education after internship.
• GPA 3.0 or higher required.
• Residency or valid work permit to work for Bird Construction or subsidiaries.
• Pre-employment medical and/or drug testing may be required for client-specific roles.
• Transcript required with application.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawings and trade scope.
• Review trade quotes, verify quantities, hours, and rates.
• Participate in project meetings.
• Conduct deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.
• Issue warranties.
• Take and coordinate progress photos.
• Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
• Perform quantity takeoffs.
• Coordinate sub-trade work and supervise on-site activities.
• Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings.
• Set up and maintain record keeping.
• Layout site lines and grades using total station.
• Update project schedules and create graphical schedules.
• Monitor manpower productivity.
