Job summary

Bird Construction is seeking a student for a 4 or 8 month co‑op starting January 2027. The Student Project Coordinator will support project coordination, field coordination, and scheduling on Canadian construction projects across AB, BC, and SK.

You will coordinate drawings, review trade quotes, and participate in meetings while developing skills under supervision and a technical mentor. A GPA of 3.0+ and current transcript are required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering program.
• GPA 3.0 or higher and at least one more semester after internship.
• Ability to lead and collaborate in a dynamic environment.
• Residency or valid work permit to work for Bird Construction or subsidiaries.
• Include current transcript with application.

Responsibilities

• Project Coordination: coordinate drawings and work scope/trades; review quotes, verify quantities, hours, and rates; participate in meetings; update deficiency logs; issue warranties; take progress photos; update field drawings and produce as‑built drawings.
• Field Coordination: perform quantity takeoffs; coordinate sub‑trade work; verify site conditions with drawings; supervise sub‑trade work; set up and maintain records; layout site lines and grades using total station.
• Scheduling: update project schedules; create and update manual/graphical schedules; obtain scheduling information from sub-trades; monitor manpower productivity.
