Job summary

Bird Construction is seeking a student to join our Buildings West team in Richmond, BC for an 8-month co-op starting January 2027. You will support project coordination, field coordination, and scheduling on an active construction project under supervision.

You are enrolled in Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Construction, with a 3.0+ GPA, and you can obtain the necessary residency/work permit to work with Bird. A current transcript is required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Construction program.
• Must have GPA 3.0 or higher and be eligible for continued studies after internship.
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and lead within projects.
• Residency or valid work permit for Bird or subsidiaries.
• Must provide current transcript.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawings and trade scope.
• Review quotes, quantities, hours and rates.
• Participate in project meetings.
• Update deficiency logs and issue warranties.
• Update field drawings and create as-built drawings.
• Update project schedules and monitor manpower.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and supervise sub-trades.
• Take progress photos.
