Manulife Bank Technology Team is reimagining digital banking in Canada using modern cloud technologies, AI-assisted engineering, and customer-focused innovation. The team builds API-driven, secure platforms powering banking experiences for customers and advisors.

We design, build, and support APIs, integration services, and cloud-native platforms with Java, Spring Boot, Azure, Kubernetes, and event-driven architectures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in enterprise software development.
• Backend dev with Java and Spring Boot or equivalent framework.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases and data integration.
• Familiar with cloud, containers, and cloud-native apps.
• Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Clear communication and collaboration across teams.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.
• Commitment to continuous learning and high-quality engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support modern software applications and platform services.
• Build and maintain APIs, integration services, event-driven capabilities, and reusable components.
• Write secure, maintainable, well-tested code using best practices.
• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, architects, cybersecurity, and partners.
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and architecture reviews.
• Support production releases and ongoing health of banking platforms.
• Investigate and resolve issues to improve reliability and performance.
• Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Advance automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and DevSecOps practices.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality.
• Document solutions and share knowledge with teammates.
