Job summary

Manulife Bank is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and support APIs, integration services, and cloud-native platforms powering digital banking in Canada. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Azure, Kubernetes, and event-driven architecture, collaborating with product partners, cybersecurity, and ops teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and other Agile delivery activities.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and architecture reviews with senior engineers and technical leads.
• Support production releases, operational readiness activities, and the ongoing health of banking platforms.
• Investigate and resolve application or platform issues while improving system reliability, security, and performance.
• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute constructive feedback that strengthens software quality and team learning.
• Help advance automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, observability, and DevSecOps practices.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and delivery outcomes.
• Document technical solutions and share knowledge, ideas, and lessons learned with teammates.
