Job summary

Urgo Medical Canada is seeking a Clinical Manager to lead the design, coordination, and execution of clinical and educational programs aligned with UMCA goals across Canadian accounts. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Physical Therapy or other nursing related specialty.
  • Based in Ontario, Alberta or British Columbia (or eligible provinces).
  • Approximately 5–7 years of progressively responsible, work-related experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of wound care industry and clinical networks.
  • Experience presenting to groups; medical product manufacturer experience preferred.

Job description

The Clinical Manager is accountable for leading the design, coordination, and execution of clinical and educational programs that align with the vision of Urgo Medical Canada (UMCA) and its wound care goals across specific accounts in Canada within the Advanced Wound Care portfolio. Reporting to the General Manager, the Clinical Manager collaborates closely with Regional Sales Managers, the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Account Managers, Marketing, and Medical Education to drive a unified approach toward achieving sales performance, profitability, and clinical education targets.

Utilizing their expertise, the Clinical Manager facilitates the clinical sales strategy in targeted accounts and supports the sales call pathway from a clinical perspective. This role plays a crucial part in the successful introduction and integration of new solutions and in providing ongoing education and training to UMCA field teams and clinical stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and implement the Clinical Sales Strategy in Canada in association with Sales and Strategic Partnerships in our top targeted accounts. Work alongside the team to create business plans and clinical/educational strategies, along with actionable implementation plans for these accounts.
  • Deliver product related programs, including professional education events, development of evidence (QIPs) and other peer-to-peer events to appropriate audiences and groups that commit and expand the UMCA portfolio.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to contribute to the design of clinical protocols and product formulary development.
  • Develop implementation tools where and when appropriate.
  • Present clinical insights and evidence to regional value analysis committees to support evaluation and decision-making.
  • Coordinate clinical activities with designated Regional Sales Managers and Account Managers to assist in the achievement of sales goals to improve patient and clinical outcomes.
  • Act as the primary clinical resource for Account Managers ensuring that policies and procedures are properly implemented.
  • Support clinicians in the development and dissemination of clinical evidence.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Medical Education teams to develop educational programs.
  • Support Marketing and Field Sales Trainers with training for new Account Managers.
  • Assist with additional training for tenured Account Managers at regional/national meetings.
  • Identify and nurture potential advocates and clinical investigators.
  • Partnering with Marketing, Medical Education and Strategic Partnerships as needed
  • Act as the clinical subject matter expert in customer engagements, including meetings, presentations, and business reviews.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth product expertise, supported by clinical evidence and research, and share key insights and best practice guidance with the team.

KEY DECISIONS:

  • Facilitates the selection and approval of clinical documents to be used by UMCA in educational as well as consultative efforts
  • Collaborate with Medical & Professional Affairs (MPA) department members and key stakeholders to ensure activities drive core business results.
  • Serves as a clinical resource in the research and development of new products, clinical trials, and the market launch of new products or services as requested

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Physical Therapy or other nursing related specialty required
  • Candidates must be based in Ontario, Alberta or British Columbia. Applicants from other provinces may also be considered based on experience and overall fit
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain credentialing
  • Approximately 5 -7 years progressively responsible, work related experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the wound care industry or surgical and operating room departments
  • Strong industry and clinical network preferred
  • Experience in presenting to large and small groups
  • Experience working for a medical product manufacturer as a Clinical resource to sales strongly preferred
  • Indoors, in an office environment, with temperature control.
  • No adverse environmental conditions expected.
  • Approximately 60% overnight travel
Physical Demands
