Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Edmonton is seeking a Service Worker II to assist Biomedical Technologists in preparing and cleaning medical devices for immediate use by Clinical Engineering staff. You will restock supplies, perform basic quality checks, and help transport equipment and charts as needed.

You will report safety concerns, assist with workload management, and ensure patient care areas have the required specialty equipment available.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Must be able to walk distances up to 1km, crouch, push wheeled equipment and lift 25 kg to waist height.
• Preferred computer experience with Word, Excel and Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Ready supplies and clean/disinfect instruments and equipment for immediate use by healthcare staff.
• Distribute and replenish patient care supplies and perform quality control tests on equipment.
• Transport patients, equipment, lab specimens and charts as required; report safety concerns to Unit Managers.
• Ensure patient care areas are stocked and specialty equipment is available.
