Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Service Worker I to support operations across multiple sites in Edmonton. You will transport patients and equipment, replenish supplies, and clean equipment in accordance with IPC guidelines. You may also move lab specimens and patient charts as required.

The role requires no shift pattern restrictions, a minimum Grade 12, and the ability to lift heavy loads. AHS emphasizes safety, teamwork, and on-call coverage as part of a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Current BLS-HCP certification required.
• Physically capable of lifting, pushing and transferring 50 kg or more.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and equipment between care areas within the hospital.
• Distribute and replenish hospital supplies and clean equipment and care areas.
• Transport lab specimens, blood products, and patient charts as needed.
• Verify patient identification and assist with transfers to wheelchairs or stretchers.
