Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking Environmental Services staff to clean and disinfect clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, restocking, operating cleaning equipment, and reporting hazards. Training may be provided for new staff; position is casual/relief with variable shifts including days and evenings.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Knowledge and operation of computers and smartphones.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs of force.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and disinfecting of clinical and non-clinical environments.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, restock bathroom supplies and make beds.
• Operate industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration.
• Clean ceilings and windows; empty hazardous waste; replenish supplies and linens.
• Identify hazards and report to supervisor; may train other staff.
