Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking an Environmental Services staff member at Viking Health Centre to perform cleaning and disinfecting in hospital and facility environments, ensuring a safe and healthy setting for patients, visitors and staff.

Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restocking bathrooms, operating cleaning equipment, and sharing in linen and supply replenishment; you may train colleagues as needed and report hazards promptly.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Knowledge and operation of computers and smartphones.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, restock supplies in bathroom facilities.
• Operate industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration.
• Identify and report potential hazards; may train Environmental or Laundry staff.
