Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Oyen - Big Country Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Worker IV to perform highly skilled maintenance and repairs on specialized equipment and building control systems, providing leadership to other staff and ensuring operations meet standards.

The role requires completion of post-secondary education or technical certification, plus a 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate when boiler support is needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or technical certification in a related field required or 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines where boiler support is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work on specialized equipment and building control systems and provide leadership to other maintenance staff.
• Resolve escalated operational issues and act as a delegate for the Manager on operational issues.
• Participate in recruitment, design and implement preventative maintenance programs, and estimate project costs.
• Liaise with outside agencies and contractors to meet operational requirements.
